We invite Michigan Students and residents
to encounter Christ in community.

Located two blocks from the central campus of the University of Michigan, St. Mary Student Parish has been serving the Catholic community at the University of Michigan and in the greater Ann Arbor area for more than 100 years. As a parish entrusted to the pastoral care of the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, we strive in the Ignatian tradition to help everyone discover God already at work in their lives.
The Diocese of Lansing has designated St Mary Student Parish as the Ann Arbor Catholic parish with particular responsibility for serving the students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan, with an emphasis on the students. In addition, we are blessed with a diverse resident parishioner community, including many U of M alumni.
We invite you to join us at one of our many Masses each weekend to engage with our welcoming community and nurture your faith, so that you might see why so many Michigan students and area residents have found a spiritual home here at St. Mary Student Parish.

Parish Mission Statement

St. Mary Student Parish is a welcoming, inclusive, caring, and diverse Catholic community, uniting residents and students.

We are Christ-centered with the Eucharist as the source of holiness in our vibrant liturgical life.

Inspired by Ignatian spirituality, we live a faith that does justice, reaching out to the marginalized.

As an apostolic parish, we are committed to ongoing formation of Christian witness, discipleship, and leadership.
