Bulletin for April 21, 2019

The parish offices are closed tomorrow, we will open at 4:15 pm for daily Mass. Newman lounge will be open for students until midnight. This Wednesday evening beginning at 6 pm all are invited to hear from our interns as they share briefly their experience working and serving our parish community!  Come to hear how this experience has impacted them and their faith! Undergrads check the bulletin for upcoming events including study nights, the All-Day Fun-Day, next Sunday’s grad blessing and the Graduation Mass on May 3rd. Graduates and young professionals are invited Monday April 29, at 7 pm for Vespers Evening Prayer. Join us for one of the oldest liturgies of the Church. Following, those who wish will head out to eat and socialize.

Bulletin for March 31, 2019

Our Lenten Penance Service will be Wednesday, April 3rd at 7 pm here in the church. The other area parish schedule can be found in the bulletin. This is the last weekend for March Match Madness, and we have a way to go! Thursday, April 4th at 7:30 pm, join us for our Big Read closing event. Come to hear from two students who recently visited Dolores Mission and Homeboy Industries. All are welcome. Friday, April 5th all are welcome to Light the Night. The church will be open from 6-9 PM and teams of students will be inviting passers-by into the church to light a candle. Consider adding this prayer opportunity to your Friday night plans. Next Sunday April 7 Deacon Romolo and Lorraine Leone return for A Taste of Italy, a fundraising meal benefitting local shelter and support services for homeless youth. Italian cuisine will be served in Newman hall following the noon, 2, 5 pm masses. Feel free to drop in anytime between 1 and 7 pm. All are invited to a free discussion titled Life in the Dump Thursday, April 11th. Find the information and the link to RSVP to reserve your spot in the bulletin. All are invited to an event called With Jesus in Gethsemane on Saturday, April 13. This is a mini retreat led by Kevin Perrotta that focuses on Jesus’ last hours before his arrest. Undergrads, grads students, and young professionals–see details for a retreat called “What Should I Do”? March 29 & 30. All undergrads–hear Fr. John Riccardo speak about “The Story that Will Change Your Life” Everyone is invited this Thursday night at 7 for the Stations of the Cross sponsored by our prayer and liturgy team. All are invited to our annual ASB Pancake Breakfast next Sunday March 31st following both the 8:30 and 10:00 am Mass. Our upcoming Alpha House and Rotating Shelter ministries are quickly approaching and there is a need for additional volunteers.

Undergrads-Intern deadline is Tuesday, March 12. All undergrad women are invited to attend Radiant, and men; the new Forged ministry this Friday, March 15 from 5-7 pm. All parishioners-all are invited to a Lenten Healing and Prayer Service on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00pm. Volunteer opportunities for the Men’s Overnight Shelter March 25-April 1 and Alpha House April 1-6. Come hear first-hand accounts about the realities of the current immigration situation on Thursday, March 21. March Match Madness is back! Your gift will have double the impact.

Ash Wednesday is this week. See the bulletin for mass times and our adjusted office hours. The bulletin this weekend includes a Lenten flyer insert which is a complete schedule of our many parish events. You will also find Lenten reflection booklets by the church entrances. All are invited to participate in the 2019 parish-wide “Big Read” of Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion by Fr. Gregory Boyle, S.J.The annual rotating shelter will begin March 25.  We need many volunteers for this. See the bulletin for details.  You are all invited to Into the Light.  This gathering will meet each Saturday morning during Lent beginning at 7:45 am for prayer, companionship and a light breakfast. Graduates and Young Professionals save the date for Monday, March 11. We will gather for our monthly mass and dinner beginning at 7 pm.  First timers are always welcome! Finally, March Match Madness is back! Team up with us to support Catholic campus ministry! During the month of March gifts made to campus ministry will be matched by a group of generous donors and your gift will have double the impact. Visit the display in the atrium to pick up a pledge card today.

Next Monday February 18th at 7 pm everyone is invited to a conversation about the history of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy followed by prayer.
