Friday, November 1st is the Solemnity of All Saints, a holy day of obligation.  Mass times are 12:10, 5:10 and a bilingual Mass at 7:00 pm. In celebration of All Souls’ Day and the Day of the Dead we invite you to write the name of your deceased loved ones you wish to remember on the bulletin board in the atrium or bring a photograph or item to place on the Altar of the Dead. Throughout the month of November we will pray along with you and the Communion of Saints for these loved ones. All are invited to the Day of the Dead celebration Sunday, November 3 featuring traditional treats and activities from 3-5 pm. Alternatively you might consider the St. Mary discussion group’s monthly gathering.  Fr. Joe Wagner will share about his formation as a Jesuit including how he came to St. Mary Student Parish, also from 3 to 5:00 pm.

See this week’s bulletin for info on volunteering at Alpha House the week of October 21st. Undergrad students retreat the weekend of October 18-20th.  ASB applications open until October 27 for undergrad students. Grad Students and Young Professionals Monthly Mass and Dinner Oct 7. Next Sunday, October 13 the St. Mary Discussion group will offer a program on “Juvenile Justice” led by Jason Smith, the Director of Youth Services for the Michigan Council on Crime and Delinquency.  He has done considerable work with the Michigan Legislature on the “Raise the Age” legislation and community-based juvenile justice development in Michigan. The event is open to all and will begin at 3:00 pm.

Fall Schedule starts Sept. 1…details inside! Interfaith immigrant training is this Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.  Family Faith Formation and Teen Confirmation registration deadline to register is next Sunday, September 1st — register thru our parish website.  The Catholic Thinkers Book Club will begin meeting in a few weeks. Check out the bulletin article for the list of books this group will be reading and discussing over the next few months.
